Rescue section training posters.
Some more items from my collection of Civil Defence Corps junk.
These are flip chart style training posters for the CDC Rescue section, they are large, 32 inches (80 cm) by 40 inches (102 cm) and show various pictures linked to the Rescue training manual. They were published in 1957.
Building Construction -
Knots & Lashings - Good old Boy Scout stuff!
Ladders for Rescue - A key part of Rescue training and, of course, it includes the much loved "Ladder Hinge".
Sheers, Derricks & Gyns and Lifting Tackle - all based on the Second World War Civil Defence heavy rescue experience. Training on this was reduced post-1960 as it was considered too time consuming.
and finally, Temporary Shoring - one thing that they did seem to do a lot of at various actual callouts.
