Finally a Cold War Civil Defence Reenactment has been set up!
It is mainly based in the North-East of England but open to members across the country.
The (Cold War) Civil Defence Living History Group will allow members to follow their interests in many aspects of 1950s and 1960s Civil Defence including:
The Civil Defence Corps
Roles in Headquarters, Rescue, Welfare, Ambulance and Warden sections.
The Industrial Civil Defence Service
Roles as Control, First Aid, Rescue and Fire Guards.
The Auxiliary Fire Service
Roles as Firemen and Firewomen.
The National Hospital Service Reserve
Roles for Medical Officers, Nurses and auxiliaries.
The Women’s (Royal) Voluntary Service
Roles in Welfare and rest centres.
